Part of good skin care is knowing how to take care of your skin. Many people simply look to products without ever getting educated about what their skin really needs. Once you know what your skin needs it is so much easier to develop a skin care routine. Then you can ensure your skin gets what it needs. The following is a list of some great skin care tips.
1. Protect your skin from the sun. Use sunscreen, wear hats and other protective clothing when outside in the sun for long period of time. The suns rays are incredible harmful to the skin.
2. Get plenty of sleep and plenty of water. Your skin is very susceptible to your bodies overall health. If you are tired and run down your skin will show it. Additionally, your skin needs a lot of water to keep it plump and healthy. If you are not getting enough water in your diet your skin is going to look thin and sickly.
3. Know your skin type. There are three basic skin types - oily, dry and combination. The majority of people fall into the combination category. They have some dry areas and other areas that are oily You need to know your skin type in order to choose the right skin care products and the right course of action for your skin care routine.
4. Wash your skin twice a day. You should do your skin care routine twice a day - morning and night. Never, ever leave make up on overnight. It clogs pores and can make your skin a mess. If you are rushed at least wash your skin twice a day.
5. Seek professional help if needed. There are some skin issues you can not handle yourself. Know when getting professional help is in your best interest.

1. Use Sunscreen, Never Tan. It's hard for young women to resist the warm glow that a few hours of tanning can bring.
2. Eat the Right Foods. You've always heard the phrase "You are what you eat" and that is exactly right when talking about your skin! What you eat is not just relevant to your weight.
3.Clean and Moisturize! Don't neglect your skin. For normal skin, a gentle daily cleanser is all you need. Using a washcloth needlessly pulls and tears at the skin.
