The first one I remember playing was something like pong but on a computer from Radio Shack - a Tandy I think... I also the the game was on an audio cassette and took forever to load.
I was 4 or 5 at the time - so about 1980.

Haha that forever to load bit bought back memorys of when I was like 6 and was playing a game called "Tonka Road Builder" or something like that and it litraly took 20 minutes to load the main menu.

yep and 20 minutes was just fine by us... now if it takes 2 seconds we get all irritated!

Yeah, I used to sit there all the time watching that bar go up, it was so slow

pong. I had a commordore 64 and the original atari games - pong was first for most of everyone.

I asked my Dad just to be sure - it was some off brand version of Pong that we played on a Tandy- then we got a C-64 and gaming really took off...

ah you mention handheld football... I had a "Tiger Games" (I think) football game. I can't remember what it was called. But hey - it was awesome! They still make them and I've seen them in Wal-Mart/Target stores.

we had hand held football, basketball, but mainly we played the handheld football thousands and thousands of times. Later we had small table top pac man and frogger games also.

Neither have I, but most of the games back then don't exist now so no-one will have heard of them
