I saw Saving Private Ryan on the first day that it came out, it was a matinée showing and the theater was full of old WW2 vets... by 15 minutes into the movie there were dozens of men sobbing uncontrollably. I guess the realism of the film touched off their emotions. It was quite an experience to view that film with a group of men that had experienced what had been depicted on screen and to see their reactions so openly...

I have many friends who had similar expereinces with going to see that movie right when it came out and having many crying older men who were war veterans. so powerful of a movie!
