Post subject: Facebook or Myspace?
We all know Facebook is loved by their developers - where Myspace is loved by friends and used has a massive entertainment site - from their videos to music sections, but do you guys think Facebook can surpass Myspace in terms of traffic + new users?

Facebook I think will eventually overtake myspace. I don't like either of them a lot, but I see the marketing potential of both, although Facebook seems better for networking.

Most simply put I'd say its better for a couple of big reasons...
Usability, to navigate through your friends and your page, is much easier on Facebook.
Networking, on Facebook there is a clearly defined networking feature... for your "friends" you can defin how you know them, when you met, build a timeline and other options that myspace does not offer. Myspace just has "friends" and they're all lumped into the one section and it just seems clunky and somewhat cheesy.
Off the top of my head those are two of the biggest reasons. This does not even mention all of the cruddy user designed pages that are prevalent on myspace which make the experience, at times, intolerable due to clashing text and background colors, etc.

I much prefer facebook, but even facebook is getting old now, there's only so many things you can find out about your friends.

I agree with this. I've never got into MySpace... found it a waste of time, really. Facebook seems much more polished and much more effective, though I use it more for work networking than I do for social purposes.

Facebook is less anonymous I feel. It has less spam and all that too. I find myself at Facebook more than MySpace. I rarely check MySpace anymore.

even though I do prefer facebook I'll have to admit that both Myspace does have a good venue for marketing... I think facebook does have some of that aspect but where they are at right now Myspace is a bit easier to use for marketing.
