Indian woman on diet of rusty nails

A woman in eastern India is said to live on rusty nails and screws.

Pampa Ghosh began her strange diet three months ago and now eats nuts and bolts, glass and stone.

Ghosh, from Siliguri in West Bengal, told Asian News International; "For the past three months, I have been eating pieces of glass, bolts and stones.

"I really like it. Doctors have told me to quit, but I like it too much to stop now."

Her mother Bharati said she was shocked when she found out what her daughter was eating.

She said: "I thought I will not be able to save my daughter's life as she is eating things such as nuts and bolts and glass. That is when I took her to the doctor."

Confused Really?? I don't believe a word of it!!

She wouldn't be able to digest the glass and it would shread her insides to pieces (Glass is what they store acid in); but you never know, it could be true *I'd have to believe it to see it*.

Here Here. Very Happy

This is not at all surprising. It sounds like a very natural means of eating to me.

Do you have meals of chinese food all throughout the day? As I'm not quite following it, from that angle.

I eat two half full plates a day, but end up eating mostly fruit throughout the day.

Wow, that sure is a lot. I have been to one a few times before, but I did not enjoy the variation of food, as it was full of fat and oily. Plus, people ate in a rush like they were in a race. I never went back again.

I've also been to a Japanese buffet once, and all I ate was clams. I had about three plates of them.

lol - you are not a buffet person then! I love them. So much variety to choose from and I am a huge sushi fan. We also know the owners of the restaurant so that is another reason we go there.

Depends a lot on what's on the menu for the buffet. There are many other buffets, with a variety of different foods.

I know of a great Authentic Sushi restaurant in London, I used to go there for lunch with my partner, whilst at University. It is the only restaurant that you have rooms, and you sit on the floor, whilst you eat. It is very expensive, but it's worth it. Very Happy

We used to take quite a lot of expensive lunch breaks, but that's the only way to eat, if you want good food, especially in London, as most of what's on offer is junk.

I agree. normally the higher end places will have better quality food, but every now and then you get lucky, like the Chinese buffet I mentioned where we know the onwers. they make food for us special which is incredible.

That is lovely, that you get that type of service for food. It is rare these days, but there are still various owners who have as much passion with customers, as they have for their business.

It also works both ways, I know of a couple of restaurants who are very cheap and offer a great service, both in terms of being friendly, and fresh seasoned food. One in particurlarly a Greek restaurant, the owner is also the Chef, and goes round each table and makes conversation with all he's guests. Plus, you can get about 11 rounds of different mezes. One for fish, one for meat etc... Each round comes with 8 mini plates of food, sauces etc... You can taste the food is made fresh and is wholesome, and not brought from a shop down the road. Everytime i eat there, I am always satisfied and never completetly full. mmm foood lol

Don't you love when you find a hidden gem of a place to eat. It is like finding the best thing ever and you hope it never is ruined.
