Post subject: When you go to the doctor
When you go to the doctor, what are some of the things that make you feel uncomfortable, skeptical?

I personally think that we are paying customers, even to doctors. I certainly appreciate skills they acquired and also the fact that they are trying to make me feel better, but it is very much an economical activity in our society(in my opinion). Consequently, when a doctor behaves like he/she has this god-given special knowledge and skills and that we need to be appreciative just to be the presence of their greatness, I have some problem. BTW, I voted for "attitude."

I don't trust doctors who are (or look) too young.

Do you actually check their qualification like how many years they've been practicing medicine before you go see them?

This "age prejudice" stems from the night when my father had a heart attack, and then in ER I saw this very young doctor who didn't really look confident.
I felt very uneasy about it.

Well, sorry to hear that.
With regard to your perspective, personal experience has huge impact on how you see and judge various healthcare issues; this happens to policy makers as well.

I don't feel uneasy about any aspects of the doctor. If I felt uneasy about anything, it would be the nature/seriousness of the problem in hand. Males are notorious for not going to the doctor when they have a problem. Thankfully, I've never had that problem really.

Do you go see a doctor regularly or only when you have a problem(like when I had a terrible pain on my shoulder several weeks ago ...)?

Personally, I only go if I have a problem (which thankfully hasn't been all that often).
