CHIP is designed to enroll children from low income families in healthcare programs. There is no indication that less children are from low income families today; however, the number of enrollment declined in many states. This is clearly a set back. Some suggest that families simply did not do their part to enroll their children in the program; some suggest that budget cut essentially caused the number to decline. |
