Ordinary household products like bleach, carpet cleaners and paint strippers can cause asthma in children; a study which followed more than 7,000 children since birth found that wheezing and asthma were linked to the cleaning products and other chemicals found in the home. If you think about it, it is not that surprising; as you clean your house today, you use a lot of chemicals. Your house is so white and shining; the house looks clean in appearance, but it does not necessarily imply that your house is actually "clean" in the sense that it creates ideal environment to those who live in the house. |

What would you recommend using to clean the house then, if not your standard, off-the-shelf cleaning products? |

I never had chance to visit hundreds of households, so I cannot be certain, but maybe some households depend on bleach, carpet cleaners and paint strippers a little too much. Often sweeping the floor, vacuuming or cleaning with wet towel is sufficient, IMO. What do you think? |

I think it's sufficient to use those chemical cleaners once in a while, rather than every day. Kinda like for a "spring-cleaning". Otherwise, mopping with only water should do the trick on tiles, for example. The way I see it, you're cleaning to live there - not to perform open-heart surgery there! |
