Post subject: Do people want to get fit?
I was reading an article in the paper yesteray. It was basically telling the story of a journalist who tried to get in shape in 30 days. He exercised, ate better etc.
After 30 days it worked and he looked and felt great. His wife commented that he looked like a male model, and then said she hated it because he might run off with a younger woman in his new good lookingness.
So, my question is, do people really want to get fit?

Why not? (I don't know any other way to respond, I mean, why not?)

I didn't really understand it myself at first but I think the general idea is that:
If person A and person B are in a relationship and person B is overweight. They may want person A to also be overweight to make them feel better about their own weight. So if person A becomes fit then person B may become insecure about themselves and thus become unhappy.
I think that was the general idea (although I might be wrong )

I kind of understand what you're saying here, but I think you should try to move forward and make some improvement, generally speaking. It is important that the couple keeps a certain balance and stay compatible, but in case of one's health, there is not a whole lot of benefit of being not fit.

I think there is a difference between 'being fit' and 'looking like a male model'. You don't have to look like an Adonis to be fit!
It all depends on Adonis' personality too - if he's a pratt, he'll always be a pratt!! Other women might be attracted to his body, but when they discover he's a pratt.....

Most people don't see enough value to dedicate the time or energy
if they only realized the benefits, and that's it's not nearly as hard as it seems, more people would want to be fit as you say

Makes you wonder why the divorce-rate is so high, eh? I mean, the moth is attracted to the flame, isn't it?
