Post subject: Any change in AdSense
I was wondering... since the forums were re-designed, has there been a change in the AdSense CTR here?
I am very curious about this. Personally, I'm put off by the changes because certain things don't work as they used to, and because I have to scroll down an entire screen worth in order to see posts. For me, it's just become too ad-orientated and far less usable.
Since it looks like this design is here to stay I am curious to know whether there are CTR benefits that far outweigh any losses associated with non-participation.
ie. has it been worth doing even if it puts a few people off?

I am still getting to the location of the new topic link and reply link even now. It's not a problem when I've been here on a regular basis, but if I'm not about for a while and I come back, I often find myself wasting a little bit of time finding my feet with where everything is. Is this a design you did yourself, admin, or is a template?

phpBB Lite (versus full) takes a little getting used to but it does have some nice features. Not sure if there will be any increase in ad revenue but it is supposed to make the forum a lot faster.

the need to add the reply button at the end of the board as it takes a while to go back up to the top to look for it.

Yes, most of the resource heavy graphics and buttons are removed in order for it to load faster. Some people prefer it, especially if they are on dialup.
Like I said, its not my favourite but you do get used to it
As far as the scrolling to reply, I always try to quote when I can so I don't have to

Quoting in phpBB is one of those things that I hate because it quotes the whole post not just the last part.
However phpBB LITE is great for small community sites where the majority of the members are on dialup
For the village site that I set up for at home most of the out lying areas are still on dialup so I made sure to use as little BW heavy stuff as possible. That is why I chose phpBB LITE and used a lot of CSS.

Yes, I would agree that phpBB would need to do a lot to be of "vB quality" but for free, it's not too bad.
Just make sure you keep it updated

its a great board to have for free i fine that it is very simple and not too many added components that will confuse you when it comes to editing your forum files.
