Post subject: Education and reading
Does education, in particular, reading help you to have a stable mental condition?

I think doing anything that has meaning and doing things that you enjoy, such as having a good job, having a loving relationship or having healthy habits is good for your health, mental and physical health. Statistics show that people with higher education have better health in general. I don't know the answer of your specific question though, anyone else having any ideas?

Yeah, education, in particular higher education. Is there any correlation between having received higher education and health?

absolutely
the more you read, the more 'experience' you take in, which can assist in dealing with matters/life. This can mean less stress, and therefore better health
of course, reading about healthy living can also help...

I don't read a lot and my mental condition is really stable.
I do study a lot so maybe that's why but I still don't think either are important for a stable mental condition.. I believe it has more to do with what you go through in life and how you deal with problems.

"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" is a great book to read.

Hey, knowledge is a powerful thing. Knowing how to be successful and how to function on many levels is a benefit in today's world.
I do know people that are not so lucky to have a good education and their reading and writing skills leave a lot to be desired, BUT! They are care free individuals and don't seem to let many things bother them. Problems roll right off their backs. The bad thing abou this is that they are the types that are not self supportive and they always need a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse to support them because they do not know how to function in the real world.

I know quite a few people like that.
