Post subject: Spa treatments with pebbles
I have been looking at a lot of websites for spas and luxury hotels recently, and there's various photographs of people lying on their front with a line of pebbles sitting along the length of their spine.
What's going on here? Is this some kind of alternative treatment?

Putting pressure on certain parts of the body and/or applying some energy like electricity can be good for your health, but this is one of those you-feel-good-doing-it treatment. I doubt if it's a medically proven treatment or conventional alternative medicine.

Does it work without the big flower too? Or does that have to be in just that particular position?

Next you'll be asking whether the towel really has to be in that position.

I never thought of that! Perhaps it's also important for the bed itself to be of same base colour as the towel and stones perhaps? But the flower not... that should be of colour somewhere on opposite side of the colour wheel? Or a particular number of degrees even?

You guys are just taking the p*ss now!
It's called Hot Stone Massage Therapy. Done with basalt stones of varying size that are heated to a certain degree.
I don't do the massage bit, but I've acquired the stones & am adding it to other 'lie-down' therapies simply as a feelgood factor. The main stones are placed along the spine at the chakra points.

Yea those are just hot stones....they feel good thats about it. no one actually lies like that with them though, they may put one on your foreheard and in your toes ect...but mostly you are just massaged with them.
