Looking good. Is this for yourself or for a client?

One key thing I notice is that, in IE, when I do the mouse-over on the top navigation, the drop-downs are obscured by the animated image just below.

Okay - I like the concept, but how many sites do you have ranked well on the search engines?

This is for myself.

Yeah, this navigation bar problem. I haven’t quite figured out what to do about this.

I took a template and modified it. There is definitely a resemblance over all, but there are enough differences.

Nowadays, I just use templates. It's very rare that I start from scratch.

It didn't load for me, it might have been your hosting or it might have been my end, my broadband has been pretty unreliable recently.

I think you really need a solution to that problem. As the site stands at present, it's not really that easy for the novice to get around.
