The U.S. government on Tuesday proposed expanding Medicare coverage for costly implanted heart devices, a decision expected to benefit makers Guidant Corp., Medtronic Inc. and St. Jude Medical Inc. I actually can't help being rather skeptic about this; US government has the record deficit and they have no money to spend. Suddenly, they tell us that Medicare will cover more implanted heart devices. Hmmm ... |

It's all good news; important question here is whether Medicare coverage for other treatments would be affected by this indirectly or not. |
