Post subject: Two conditions rolled into one very bad one

Sometimes you get a bizarre combination of conditions. For example, I recall someone having a benign growth on their body but also a fear of open spaces/going out. The growth got to unbelievable proportions as a result... I think in the end it weighed something like 20 stone (the growth alone).

Similarly, it's common for hamaphrodites (sp?) to suffer from serious depression, and often to be suicidal - which is why few make it to adult life.

Does anyone know of any other examples where two conditions can roll into one with surprising consequences?
