Post subject: Extreme case of having repetition
Some people have a bit strange repetition in their life. For example, watch exactly the same movie every day for weeks. Can this be a problematic behavior? Can this be a symptom or a result of mental illness?

Can be a symptom of depression, but not necessarily a symptom of mental illness.

What people do in their own homes is really their own business, isn't it?
If this is indeed a symptom of a mental illness, then psychiatrists suffer the same illness... for day in and day out they prescribe the same goofball-drugs to people.
Perhaps repetition is rather a way of coping for someone who may have some unresolved emotional issue, and the repetition is a comfort to them - being "in a place" that they know, and are comfortable with.
But then again, if you step back and think what an alien or an animal might possibly think upon observing all of humankind, is one whole load of repetitive behaviour! Rush-hour traffic is fascinating to watch from a hilltop - watch a city fill up in the morning, and empty itself in the evening. Our whole society is repetitive from morning to night - from our work-schedules to our bowel movements!
So why single out a few harmless actions by harmless people?
